Guide To Sydney Airport | SYD Airport Transfers

Sydney Airport, SYD Airport or Kingsford Smith Airport located towards south eastern Sydney suburb of Mascot. It is one of the oldest as well as busiest airports in the world with around 44 Million passengers traveling annually. So, it’s better to be prepared at your end before travelling to Sydney Airport.

In this blog we will briefly explain the Sydney Airport, which will definitely help you during your travel.

The first thing to know is the number of terminals in the airport. Simply there are three terminals. One is the international named as terminal 1 or T1 which is open from 3 am till 11 pm and two domestic terminals named as terminal 2 and terminal 3 which are open from 4 am till 11 pm. Domestic flights like Virgin, Jet star, Rex Qantas (flight numberQF1600 and above) operate from Terminal 2 while flight numbers from QF0400-1599 operate from Terminal 3.

There is a flight curfew after the terminals are closed so flights that are delayed are diverted to other airports.

Wondering, How to get to one terminal from the other?

For connecting passengers, some airlines like Qantas and Virgin offer free transfers facilities between terminals.

You can also opt for a free shuttle bus in which journey takes around 15 minutes and is available from 6 am until 8:30 pm.

The T-Bus is Sydney Airport’s complimentary shuttle bus service between the T1 International and T2/T3 Domestic terminals. The service operates frequently throughout the day, 7 days a week, between 6.00am and 8.50pm. The journey takes approximately 10 minutes.

Bus stops are located on the Arrivals level outside each terminal.

Taxi

A taxi journey between T1 International and the T2/T3 domestic terminals will take up to 10 minutes, depending on the time of day. The approximate cost for this journey is $17.00 - $22.00 (one way, per taxi).

Train

Airport Link offers a $6.70 (one way, per person) single transfer ticket for passengers travelling between the T1 International and T2/T3 Domestic terminals. However, pricing does vary if the traveler is using an Opal Card. The journey takes only two minutes and there are frequent services between 5am and midnight, seven days a week.

Or you better be prepared with a pre-booked reservation with Mt Syd Shuttle where we will be waiting for you at your specified point at your specified time and you will be dropped at your location/terminal without any hassle.

Is there any waiting area for passengers with next morning flights?

Well this is awkward. They do have a small waiting area near the International train station where you may rest but there are no benches and heating systems. So you better be prepared for the uncomfortable rest. If this does not sound like a good idea you may opt for hotels within 1 km around the terminals so that you can catch your flight early in the morning.

How much time do you need to provide yourself before your flight?

It is always better to be prepared for your flights. For domestic outbound flights, recommended time is 2 hours before flights and 3 hours for international flights. But you must always be prepared for the traffic delays. Mt Syd shuttle always recommends the best time for you so that you get to the airport on time to catch your flight. Book with us to make your airport transfer comfortable and hassle free with one of the best airport shuttle service companies. Cheap and reliable airport transport service, on time pickup and a wonderful ride, all you get with Mt Syd Shuttle.
